Volvo V40 Parts
by EVANDER KLUM
Volvo is guided by three core values when it comes to the development of its cars. These are: safety, quality, and environmental care. The Volvo V40 is a great proof of these core values. This model is considered to be one of the safest wagons in its class with safety features such as a Whiplash Protection Seating System (which is also known as WHIPS), Side Impact Protection System (also dubbed as SIPS), and Inflatable Curtains. Other features include ABS brakes, traction control, and dual-stage airbags.
Volvo V40 was first introduced in 1995 along with the Volvo S40. Its exterior styling has been originally sculpted to closely resemble the muscular flanks on the 60 and 80 Series cars. Volvo has virtually bid goodbye to its unibody box design by giving the Volvo V40 sedan and wagon new front fenders, bumpers, tail lights, and even wheels. Volvo V40 offers two engine options -- 1.8L and 2.0L DOHC, both of which have four cylinder motors each. The cars rated fuel consumption is pegged at around 9.3 liters per 100 kilometers for city driving and 6.0 liters per 100 kilometers while on the highway.
The launching of the Volvo V40 Phase II models in the year 2000 brought additional long-term changes. It was designed to exhibit greater comfort and a quieter engine. In 2002, a five-door Volvo V40 was offered with a Sport Package, a new center console design, and realigned option packages for the popular compact models. V40s unique Sport Package features a rear spoiler, leather steering wheel and gear shift, new dash and door inlays, leather-and-cloth sport seats, and unique instrument cluster. Volvo stopped manufacturing V40s in 2004.
Volvo V40 parts basically undergo rigorous testing down to the smallest details. One such Volvo V40 part is the fuel injector, a mechanism consisting of a pump, valves, and nozzles for spraying fuel into the cylinders of an internal-combustion engine. Fuel injectors are responsible for injecting the right amount of gas into the cylinders at the right time and right way. A Volvo V40 fuel injector contributes to smoother function during quick throttle transitions, improvement in engine starting, better extreme weather operation, reduced maintenance interval, and a slight increase in fuel economy. This part is just one of the pieces that put together V40s legacy.
