A Worthy V40 Successor
by EVANDER KLUM
First launched in early 2004, along with the S40 sedan, the Volvo V50 is a somewhat larger estate evolution of its V40 predecessor. A Volvo V50's appearance speaks of modern design and speed with its curved roof line and an abrupt tail section. This is emphasized by a rounded nose section, short bonnet, and pronounced cab-forward stance. Broad haunches and convex side panels signal power and underscore the cars compact dimensions. The tail lamps follow Volvos modern form and sweep up towards the roof panel.
Volvo V50s engine parts are transversely installed in-line units. A five-cylinder engine gives low vibration and smooth operation. This configuration provides high torque across a broad rev band, thus inducing swift acceleration and excellent drivability within a wide speed range. A four-cylinder powertrain is also an option. Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the Volvo V50 offers a spacious and flexible interior. Every passenger seat has a fold-flat backrest. With the seats folded down, the load compartment floor is flattened to accommodate more cargo. To create more luggage space, the cars rear section was extended by 46mm more than the Volvo S40 sedan model.
Behind the success of the V50 are different Volvo V50 parts tasked to efficiently perform their functions. One key Volvo V50 component is the Volvo V50 exhaust system. This part, although often taken for granted, carries harmful exhaust gases away from the passenger compartment while converting most of the harmful gases into acceptable by-products. Moreover, it helps in reducing the sound made by the internal combustion engine, lowers the temperature of the exhaust, and controls emissions coming out of the vehicle.
A Volvo V50 part, even the minutest ones, can make or break the performance of a Volvo V50. To enjoy quality performance at all times, it is best to keep all Volvo V50 parts properly maintained by having regular inspection and immediate replacement when needed.
