Usually located on top of an engine, the turbocharger is one of the most powerful automotive performance boosters. A turbo, or turbocharger, is an exhaust gas-driven forced-induction device used by internal combustion engines to improve engine performance by forcing compressed air into the combustion chambers. It allows more fuel to be burned, resulting to a larger power output. The term ��turbo�� connotes a large amount of power. True enough, a turbo, though simply designed, supplies extra power to any automobile.

Take the Volvo Turbo for instance. Genuinely made from high-quality materials, Volvo turbochargers are utilized to boost engine horsepower. They enhance power without increasing vehicle weight. A Volvo Turbo consists primarily of two sections: the turbine section, and the compressor section. The turbine section is made up of Volvo Turbo Parts such as turbine housing, turbine exhaust gas inlet, turbine wheel, and turbine exhaust gas outlet. The compressor section, on the other hand, is composed of a compressor housing, compressor ambient air inlet, compressor wheel, and compressor air discharge. Because of a Volvo turbo��s relatively smaller and lighter volume, it can easily be fitted under a Volvo��s hood.

Early turbo chargers are difficult to handle because of unpredictability of power delivery. However, as turbocharger technology improved, turbocharged engines are now smoother, more predictable, and yet sport the same effective power delivery. Volvo is just one of many carmakers that have taken steps toward better turbocharger systems. The first turbo, invented by a Swiss engineer, was primarily meant for aircrafts. Nevertheless, this technology has made wonders for automotive applications, including the Swedish-made Volvo, one of the most innovative carmakers in the world.
