Leyland goes hybrid

Every one must be familiar with the brand name Ashok Leyland, yes it is the first name that comes to our mind the moment we see a truck, on the leading makers in the heavy motor segment. This company is the flagship of Hinduja Group. It is expected to launch its next-generation range of hybrid trucks and buses in coming future. The company is developing electronic shift-by-wire transmission technology and electronic-controlled engine management systems to take fuel efficiency to a new level.

The new-aged vehicle will be enhances with both automotive power and fuel efficiency and electronic shift-by-wire transmission, which is expected to decrease the fuel consumption by 5 percent. Both electric battery and bio-fuel modes for its hybrid range of vehicles in India are also under research.
