6. If you have anything in your car replaced or fixed, triple check if it is done right. You should not put your family in peril by relying too much on a mechanic's work. It always pays to double check somebody else's job on your vehicle. If you can afford to pay another expert to inspect the job done on your car, do that. This way, you can be sure that you are not sacrificing anything in terms of safety.

7. Don't drive if you're not up to it. If you feel sick or are uncomfortable driving, don't push it. Driving under these conditions is as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol.
