Owning a classic car is a huge investment and regular car insurance just will not do. As such, you need classic car insurance to protect your interests.
Having a classic car stored in your garage is the dream of many a man and probably stems back to childhood. These days that seems to be what women want too. Picture the scene�� You are driving on an open country road with the wind in your hair (or the window rolled down depending on the car you have)�� and then a policeman pulls you over and books you for not having the car in question insured! As having a classic car is a luxury rather than a necessity and classic car parts are old and expensive, regular insurance will not cover you. Instead, you need classic car insurance.
Classic car insurance was extremely costly in the past. In fact, it was out of the affordability range of the majority of people in the past. However, that is thankfully not the case today. With rising food and fuel costs, fewer people could afford to insure their classic car at the old premium rate, which may be on of the reasons why many companies are insuring classic cars under a specialist policy.
Classic car insurance policies vary wildly from provider to provider. Many of those companies that do provide it are specialist companies that only offer insurance for classic cars, but there are a few providers that are household names and will offer you cover for your classic car. All of them will give you a quote in advance so you can compare the cost and can compare the policy before you sign up for anything. They will all ask roughly the same set of questions in order to establish just how much you should or should not be paying for your classic car insurance policy and these questions will affect the amount that you have to pay. For example, you will have to have your car stored in a private, lockable garage if you want to receive a lower quote and you will also have to have a desirable postcode. However, no matter where you live, you will find that classic car insurance quotes are less on the whole than they were a decade ago!
