Car Parts : Do It Yourself
by DARREN WALKER
There are not many of us who feel our cars don't need a service here and a tweak there, but we don't do it because we know we will have to pay inflated prices for it. What about doing it ourselves?
The main reason for this is the ability to obtain the right parts but if you can do this then you can safe a packet because as you will see with any garage the majority of a bill is on labour costs and not the parts themselves. It is a good idea to order any parts as soon as you see a problem developing because some suppliers have lenghty lead in times which is no good if a car needs immediate attention.
Instead of going to a garage for parts and they are putting their own percentage on the price try to buy the parts direct from the internet. you can buy virtually any part for any car and if not too bulky will deliver it for you so to save even more. If doing this however make sure you have ever possible serial munber and batch number etc to cut out any chance of the wrong part arriving and giving yourself unnecessary problems that can be avoided.
After you have your car a while and have done various tasks yourself you can then budget for the coming year and buy parts in advance and in quanities that will ensure a cheaper price and if there is a stock issue with the supplier you can live with that seeing it might be a few months before you will need it and when you do it is sitting on the shelf waiting.
After you do this for a while you will also have a warm glow of achievement so when you are driving your pride and joy you can be all the more content in the fact that you did it yourself. Find more tips at http://www.all-your-needs.com/carparts
