Car Leasing Special: Volkswagen Reveals Futuristic Car Conce
by DANIEL LAMB
Inspired by a film with a 2028 setting, Volkswagen launched a new micro-site for its Ego, Room, and One concept cars, which are offshoots of Volkswagens car designers and developers ingenuity, creativity, and imagination. In the said film, the father was narrating to his son about the automotive world about twenty years back. The micro-site showcases the visualizations of the car maker, who is based in Wolfsburg, Germany. The car maker has a wide array of ideas for future cars but zeroed in on three concept cars. The One, from the word itself, is a one-seater that can tilt forward to save up on space and for easier parking. It has the ability to connect in a trainlike manner during rush hour, presuming that theres one in the future. On the other hand, the two-seater Ego concept car features an exterior that can be personalized through holograms. The third concept car called the Room has rotating seats in the front for face-to-face interaction. The cars are designed to drive on their own. The special web page addition to its web site demonstrates how the cars of the future can communicate with traffic lights, how holographic displays in the cockpit can assist the driver and how we can generate even more driving pleasure and still keep our cars emission-free," said Jochen Sengpiehl, head of marketing for Volkswagen Passenger Cars. The micro-site is interactive, allowing users to choose individual links to have a better look of what the automotive future would be like in the eyes of the car making companys think tank. There are navigation guides in the micro-site that can aid you and your intuition, as a Talk to Us feature is included to give users the opportunity to share their comments and create their own information packages to download. Its classic film sequences coupled with 3D effects would transport you to another time, like being in a time capsule. There have been detractors to the concept cars, implying that they will be left as concepts and are far from happening in real life. Some say that it poses as a mystery to be able to ride in an automatically driven car and that most cars would be under the same network. They say its only good for all cars under the same car manufacturing company. Whatever the reality will be, or whether we would still be here to witness that reality or not anymore, perceiving the future and coming up with a futuristic car concept is commendable. After all, a lot of good things we enjoy now are products of our folks imagination in the yesteryears.
