Suspension made better with Volvo Shocks

by EVANDER KLUM

The suspension system is one of the important component assemblies behind a vehicle's ability to maneuver with ease. Highly effective when a car is driven off-road, suspension systems, however, are not solely applicable for driving in extremely irregular terrains. Although roads sometimes look perfect at a glance, they are actually not. What appear as slight bumps and minor irregularities on road surfaces actually affect driving. For the Swedish automaker Volvo, this crucial drive control system is well taken care of with the robust foundation of Volvo Shocks.

Also known as the dampening auto parts, Volvo shocks are designed to absorb those uncomfortable motions and vibrations caused by irregular or inconsistent terrains. Shock absorbers are basically oil pumps that are mounted between the frame of the car and the wheels. The upper mount of the shock connects to the frame, while the lower mount connects to the axle near the wheel. Every time the car wheel encounters a bump and causes the spring to coil and uncoil, the energy of the spring is transferred to the shock absorbers through the upper mount, down through the piston rod and into the piston. When these shocks function properly, the un-and-down motions of the vehicle are limited or minimized. Drivers, therefore, find it easier to control the vehicle. Moreover, Volvo Shocks allow easier right or left turn controls.

Without the Volvo Shocks, cars will more likely go into full throttle and eventually cause great difficulty of control for the driver. The suspension system is very important in balancing out vehicles geared with high horsepower, torque, and acceleration. A so-called powerful engine is also useless without an equally powerful suspension system.

At present, a number of automobile manufacturers like Volvo have developed shock absorbers that are velocity-sensitive. As the name suggests, this upgraded suspension system provides more shocks resistance as the suspension moves faster. More modern shocks are allowing better and faster road adjustments, and Volvo can be expected to keep up exploiting these leads with its instinct for innovation that withstood 80 years.
