Saab SUV donated to Angel Flight West
by EVANDER KLUM
Recently, a 2008 Saab 9-7x 5.3i SUV has been donated to the Angel Flight West (AFW) as part of a national partnership between Air Charity Network (ACN) and Saab Automobile USA. Saab intends to help in providing necessary ground transportation to AFWs passengers. It will also be part of AFWs continuous service to people in need, through arranging free flights for access to health care and other humanitarian purposes. In addition, AFW also support staff that will use the vehicle for disaster relief planning and regional promotion.
AFW Chief Executive Officer Michael Nanko said, This generous donation from Saab will greatly help us increase the awareness of Angel Flight Wests service throughout the Western United States. He also said, It is a magnificent vehicle that provides our patients, passengers and staff with a safe and comfortable way to travel when we are not in the air.
Angel Flight West was founded back in 1983. Since then, it has relied on the contributions from pilot and non-pilot volunteers in helping people through the service they offer. At present, AFW has a mission flight in the air every hour across the 13 western states AFW covers.
AFW has been helping people in dire situations and even to provide access to health car for those who have cancer and other rare diseases. They also provide assistance through transporting sick children to camp, and in blood and organ transfers.
Up to date, AFW has over 30,000 missions organized. Angel flight missions even ranked second behind the U.S. Military as with the number of missions delivered during the Hurricane Katrina. For many AFW passengers, children and adults, AFW is indeed the difference between life and death. Nanko said, Angel Flight West volunteers and supporters truly give hope wings every day. Our pilots donate their planes, time and all costs related to flying patients to their destinations. Without our pilots, who have a passion to fly and compassion to help others, we would not exist, he continued.
Saab Automobile USA General Manager Steve Shannon C who has been proud for Saab to be in support C said, Air Charity Network provides a crucial service to people in need, and Saab is proud to support their efforts.
Saab customers are traditionally very socially responsible, likewise so is Saab. By partnering with Angel Flight West, we can give back to the community in a way that complements our aircraft heritage, he added.
Saab of Santa Monica will be the one having the Saab 9-7x, with quality Saab pressure plate, delivered to the Angel Flight West Region. Saab is also looking forward to include ACN in its marketing activities along with the agency name, logo and contact information, which will be posted on Saab sales promotion materials.
