Mazda Protege parts keep Protege Performance Smooth
by GLADY REIGN
The Mazda Protege has a very interesting background. Its name itself is very intriguing. This particular vehicle goes by a variety of names. It is sometimes called the Mazda Familia, Mazda 323, Mazda GLC and Mazda Axela. But in the United States, it was initially known as the GLC, then the 323 and finally in 1990 it was called the Protege. All of these names only refer to a Mazda compact family car produced between the years 1976 and 2003.
The vehicle underwent significant changes, implemented in particular on a couple of Mazda Protege parts. Some notable changes were on the vehicle's exterior. In 1990, the Protoge was a four-door vehicle. By 1995 it was introduced as a two-door model. High quality Mazda Protege parts also made the vehicle's interior very comfortable. In addition to this, critics have praised its handling and performance. For its 1991 model, several Mazda Protege parts were enhanced. The new Protege had a standard 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The base Protege had a 1.8 liter, 4-cylinder engine that produced 103 horsepower. Some convenient features of this model included air conditioning, sunroof, four-speed automatic transmission and custom wheels.
The latest models of the Mazda Protege have come a long way since the first one. Mazda actually produced some of its greatest vehicles in 2003, which are the Protege5 wagon and the Mazdaspeed Protege wagon sports compact. Mazda really made a lot of improvements on a few Mazda Protege parts. The 2003 Protege is available in three level trims. These are the base DX, LX and ES. All these have four-door body styles. Passenger safety is also highlighted with these models as dual front airbags and emergency trunk releases are installed as standard features. For other advanced safety features like anti-lock brakes and front-side airbags, these are offered in the LX and ES trim line. The Protege also has enough power of 130 hp at 6000 rpm and 135 lbs-ft of torque at 4000 rpm produced by the 2.0-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine.
