Choose Only Volvo Header Pipes for Maximum Exhaust Performan

by EVANDER KLUM

Having the right Volvo headers provides a significant improvement in the performance of Volvo vehicles. This is because headers are much more than just suitably-sized exhaust pipes that are attached to the engine. With the assistance of proper headers, engine power is effectively increased. The considerable amount of energy that remains with the exhaust gas in the cylinder and contaminates the intake charge can be effectively minimized by using the correct Volvo header. A Volvo engines power is enhanced as the induction flow during the valve overlap period is facilitated better. The reduction of pumping losses from the exhaust stroke also contributes to improved engine performance.

Of course, an excellent Volvo header design is comprised of various component sections. One such part is the Volvo Header Pipe. It is among the components of an exhaust system. A Volvo Header Pipe helps the exhaust system to effectively deliver the burnt gases out of the internal combustion engine by gathering and directing it into the exhaust pipe.

In the construction of Volvo Header Pipes, the primary consideration is the optimal flow of exhaust gases. These components are generally circular steel tubings that are molded with bends and folds measured to fit with the paths of each cylinders exhaust port to a common outlet. To facilitate the flow of pressure waves through the common outlet, the tubings join at narrow points that are not angled to the direction of a Volvo engines cylinders. A number of crucial characteristics translate to proper header function. One is that the header pipes must be sufficiently narrow so that forceful compression and suction waves are maintained. At the same time, the primary header pipes also need to be wide enough to facilitate the optimal flow of gases from the exhaust valve to the header pipes. Over an established operating range for Volvo engines, the primary header pipes and collectors are expected to produce a scavenging wave that is reflected back to the exhaust valve. To ensure the precise bouncing period of these scavenging waves, there is an efficient length for primary header pipes.

While some high performance headers are made of lighter-weight aluminum, a typical Volvo header is manufactured with cast iron material. Different types of engine require different header pipes design. Single headers, for instance, are fit for vehicles powered by linear engines while V-shaped ones are properly fitted by two header pipes mounted to each of its cylinder heads.

With a Volvo header and its proper Volvo Header Pipes, optimum engine performance is at hand for Volvo drivers.
