The all-new 2008 Toyota Camry Solara, a classy midsize vehicle, available in coupe and convertible versions, has been a favourite vehicle of many an Americans.

The coupe seats five while the convertible has seating for four and has a power-operated cloth top.

Efficient engines Coupes come with either a 155 hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder or a 210 hp 3.3-liter V-6 engine. Convertibles have only V-6. The four-cylinder engine can be equipped with either a five-speed automatic or manual transmission while the V-6 is only available with a five-speed automatic.

EPA estimates The EPA estimates of the four-cylinder coupes at 21-22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The V6 works out at 18/27 rating in the coupe and 18/26 in the convertible.

Body and style Both coupe and convertible are offered in SE, Sport and SLE trim levels. The buyers have a choice of four-cylinder or V6 power on each trim of the coupe, but the V6 is standard on all convertibles.

The standard exterior features of the Solara include Aerodynamic PES High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps with manual leveling switch, auto on/off feature and Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Integrated fog lamps, LED taillights, Color-keyed front and rear underbody spoilers and side rocker panel moldings, Sport-tuned suspension and 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels with P215/55R17 tires.

All versions of the 2008 Toyota Camry Solara come standard with attracitve interior design with bright metallic accents and exceptional build and material quality.

Safety features ABS brakes, driver and front-passenger airbags and front seat-mounted side-impact airbags are standard. The coupe also includes standard side curtain airbags. Stability control and traction control are optional.

In the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration��s crash tests, the Solara earned a perfect five stars for its protection in frontal and side impacts. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) provided it the top rating of "Good" for its performance in the frontal-offset crash test.
