A Festive Ride Experience
by GLADY REIGN
The Ford Festiva was the ideal subcompact car that the Ford Motor Company enthusiastically released in 1986. It was initially launched in Japan. The Festiva was derived from the Kia Pride, which was partly-owned by Ford during that time. Thus it came as no surprise that the first generation of the Festiva greatly echoed the Pride. With a goal to be one with the Mazda DA Platform, the Festiva incorporated the use of the Mazda B Series engines. These, along with the other Ford Festiva parts, were the family traits that have been passed on through all the generations of the Ford Festiva. Up to this day, they have still retained unparalleled value and high quality.
The Festiva saw only two generations in the automobile industry, as its production halted during the early 2000s. The first-generation Festiva captured a large segment of the American market due to its remarkable performance. However, the Festiva's fame was overshadowed with the launch of the Ford Explorer. It was not a matter of Fords priority between the Explorer and the Festiva, but it was because the people wanted a new vehicle. Hence, the Festiva got a second generation. While it was still completely geared with the Ford Festiva parts, the car undertook an overhaul. It was redesigned, and even rebaptized as Aspire in the US. It managed to get through the markets in other countries like Australia.
Despite lasting only until 1997 in the US market, American consumers have remained loyal to the Festiva because of the modifications that were implemented. The Festiva has been transformed into convertibles, pickups, and dune buggies, with their aesthetics completely enhanced. Likewise, the exceptional quality of Ford Festiva parts has made them perfect choices for replacements. In its totality, the Festiva has lived up to the promise of providing a festive drive, as it brought satisfaction to its customers while it could.
